The problem

The address, the username, the password, and the step everyone forgets: how to get on the VPN first. Passwords are encrypted before they are stored, and showing one is recorded.

Upload runbooks and diagrams, save the links people keep asking for, and write down the knowledge that usually lives in one person’s head. Search finds it all. Passwords are never searchable.

The audit trail
Nothing happens in the dark.
Every view, reveal, copy and download is written by the server, not the browser. Everyone in the department can read the log. No one can edit it.

Security, honestly
What we protect, and what we don’t yet.
Security is the product, so here it is in plain words.
What CHI does
- Encrypts every password with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, using a separate key for each organization. A copied database is unreadable on its own.
- Enforces privacy in the database, not just the screen. Each query is checked against your department memberships, and those rules are tested for every role.
- Records every reveal. If the record can’t be written, the password isn’t shown.
- Disables, never deletes. When someone leaves, their access ends at once and their work stays with the team.
What it doesn’t do yet
- Reveals stay accountable. Passwords are encrypted at rest and available only to authorized department members. Every reveal is recorded, so teams can review access when it matters.
- No two-factor sign-in yet. It is next on the list, and will be required for heads and admins.
- Uploaded files are not virus-scanned during the beta. They are always downloaded, never opened in the browser.
